DUBAI: Egypt will increase medical scholarship programs for Yemeni nationals, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced, as Yemen's war-battered medical sector struggles to meet medical needs.
Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, discussed with Yemeni Minister of Health, Nasser Ba’oom, ways of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of health, the Egyptian Health Ministry spokesperson, Khaled Megahed, said in a statement on Monday.
Both ministers discussed ways of training Yemeni medics in Egypt by increasing medical training scholarships for Yemeni students in Egypt, local daily Egypt Today reported.
During the meeting, Egypt also agreed to send Yemen’s ministry of health the treatment protocols for COVID-19, according to spokesperson Megahed.
